8 Days Exploring Wildlife in Rwanda Tour

Day 1: Arrival – Kigali International Airport.

On arrival you will be picked from the airport by a Gorilla Adventure Tours safari guide who will brief you on the 8 Days Exploring Wildlife in Rwanda Tour  and then transfer you to a hotel already booked for you in Kigali.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise.

Have breakfast and then go for a game drive where you may spot various wild animals. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon you will go for a boat ride on Lake Ihema. You might spot various water animals like the hippos and crocodiles.

Day 3: Game Drive – Boat Ride on Lake Ihema.

Have breakfast and then go for a game drive where you may spot various wild animals. Return to the lodge for lunch and thereafter go for a boat ride on Lake Ihema.

Day 4: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.

After breakfast, you will depart for Volcanoes National Park. You will have lunch enroute and then proceed to the lodge where you will have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park.

After breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for a briefing, and then you will begin the trekking. The trek can be quite tough that it takes a lot of time approximately 2-8 hours. Dinner and overnight at: – Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 6: Dian Fossey Trek

You will have breakfast and then go to visit the grave of Dian Fossey. This is at the former Karisoke Research Center where Dian spent some twenty years studying the Mountain Gorillas, and the trek to the site is quite spectacular, passing through bamboo forest and afro-montane habitats. You may spot other wildlife during the visit. Dinner and overnight at: – Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 7: Golden Monkey Trekking.

After breakfast you will go for Golden monkey trekking. This takes a few hours, you will return to the lodge, have lunch and go to visit the twin lakes as you enjoy the cool breeze of the lakes.

Day 8: Departure

After breakfast, you will drive to Kigali city and go a tour of this beautiful city. The Kigali City tour will enable you visit the colorful markets, genocide memorials and craft centers are the main areas of interest. In Rwanda you will find all over the country Memorials to remember the genocide of 1994. You will have lunch and be transferred to Kigali Airport for your outbound flight.
