Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe Airport

A Gorilla Adventure Tours driver guide will welcome you to the Pearl of Africa as you arrive at Entebbe Airport. He will brief you about the 6 Days Uganda Primate Tracking Safari and then he will transfer you to the hotel for relaxation as you prepare for the next day’s activity.

Meal Plan: (Lunch, Dinner).

Accommodation: Entebbe Protea Hotel (High End) or Boma Hotel (Mid Range).

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After your morning breakfast, you will embark on a fascinating drive to Kibale Forest National Park passing through papyrus swamps and thick jungles of the Nile Delta, just under the Rwenzori Mountains.

Meal Plan: (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Wetland Walk

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kibale National Park headquarters at Kanyakyu Visitor Centre to join other trekkers for briefing and eventual chimpanzee trekking. Your ranger guide will take you for a guided primate walk inside Kibale Forest National Park. This forest provides an opportunity to visit one of the habituated communities/part of chimpanzees and spend an hour with them observing and taking photographs. Kibale National Park is home to other 13 primate species coupled with forest birds.

After lunch visit Bigodi Wetland Village for a wetland walks that was designed to benefit the local community living around Kibale Forest National Park. This walk will provide you with the opportunity to see a wide range of birds, butterflies and flora and fauna among others. View a variety of, birds and other insects.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Start your day with a tasty breakfast and check out from the lodge and start off your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. A lot will be enjoyed on this thrilling journey including the beautiful scenery, the rolling hills with terraced gardens of Irish potatoes and Kayonza tea plantation. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is located in south western Uganda and is home to more than half of the world’s endangered mountain gorillas and the only National Park where wild chimpanzees co-exist with mountain gorillas. You will arrive late afternoon for dinner and overnight stay.

Accommodation: Buhoma Lodge (High End) or Silver Back Lodge (Mid Range) or Buhoma Community Bandas (Budget).

Day 5: Gorilla Tracking and Village Walk

After morning breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas, then after you will be taken to the starting point of your allocated gorilla family to start your trek into the Impenetrable Bwindi Forest. This trek may take from 40 minutes to three quarters of the day depending on where mountain gorillas will be. Meaning gorilla trekking can be strenuous and as such a certain level of fitness is required. Once you find the gorillas, the experience will be worth it and you will be allowed one hour of observation and photography.  You will then return to the park headquarters where you will be awarded a certificate in recognition of your effort of helping to conserve the endangered mountain gorillas. Return to the lodge for relaxation and then back for a village walk to learn more about the local people living around Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 6: Transfer to Entebbe International Airport

After early breakfast, drive to Entebbe Airport with a stopover at Equator crossing and en-route lunch along the way to Entebbe.
