Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival – Kigali.
Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, you will be met by a Gorilla Adventure Tours safari guide who will warmly welcome you and drive you to your booked hotel for dinner and overnight stay at hotel.
Meal Plan: (Dinner).
Day 2: Transfer to DRC.
After having your early morning breakfast, you will embark on a journey to the DRC. Take in great views of the country side en-route and check in with Virunga Tourism office by 11:15am. You will receive gorilla and volcano trekking permits at check in which must be presented at the start of each trek. Once checkin is complete, you will be transported to Kibumba for your overnight stay.

Day 3: DRC Gorilla Trekking Experience.
After an early breakfast you will meet your ranger guides and have a briefing before the gorilla trek. The gorilla trekking duration depends on the location of the gorilla group being trekked and the difficulty of the terrain. Once you locate the gorillas, you will be allowed up to one hour with them for observation and photography. You will later return to camp for a late lunch and have the rest of the day at leisure, including time for nature walks and bird watching.

Day 4: Nyirangongo Volcano Hike
Have an early morning breakfast and transfer to the Kibati Ranger Post the departure point for the Nyiragongo Volcano trek. You will be briefed about the volcano hiking experience and you will have the opportunity to hire porters. The climb up the volcano will take around four to six hours, with beautiful scenic view of nature, as you share wonderful stories with the guide, taking a lovely hike up the volcanoes and trekkers will overnight on the summit, with a great stunning view of the burning lava.

Day 5: Descend Nyiragongo Volcano – Transfer to Kigali.
In the early morning, you will descend back to Kibati. Average descent time is four hours. Once at the bottom, you will be transported back to Goma with drop-off at the Grande Barriere. Later cross the border back to Rwanda and proceed to Kigali to catch up with you evening flight back home.
