Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park
You will be met by a Gorilla Adventure Tours tour guide who will pick you from your hotel or place of residence in Kampala and take you to Murchison Falls National Park for your birding experience. You may spot some bird species along the way including white-crested Turaco. You will have lunch in Masindi and then continue through Nakasongola to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. At the sanctuary you will receive a briefing from the ranger regarding the rhino project and then proceed to trek the sanctuary. After lunch, drive to the top of the Falls for Pel’s fishing Owl, Rock Pranticoles, Bat Hawk and a variety of Night Jars. Overnight and meals at Paraa Safari Lodge (High End) or Murchison River Lodge (Mid Range) or Heritage Safari Lodge (Budget). Meal Plan (Lunch, Dinner).
Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park Tour
Morning cross with a ferry for a game drive to the Delta for the Shoebill stork and other water birds, animals like the Lion, Leopards, Giraffes, Oribis, Hartebeests, Elephants, to mention but a few. Afternoon boat ride to the bottom of the Falls where we shall see a variety water birds, schools of Hippos, Crocodiles and the magnificent falls at a close range on the second day game drives in the morning and afternoon. Day 3: Another Day in Murchison Falls National Park
Full day dedicated for birding with a boat cruise along the Nile Delta. that takes you between 4-5hrs, this is one of the most interesting experiences in Murchison Falls National Park through the extensive papyrus delta through which the Victoria Nile flows into Lake Albert. Here again there are plenty of animals and birds to see with an excellent chance of seeing the rare Shoebill. The afternoon is spent relaxing at your Lodge. Day 4: Murchison Falls – Kampala / Entebbe
