11 Days Around Uganda Wildlife Safari

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to Kampala.

Upon arrival, you will be met by a Gorilla Adventure Tours driver guide who will brief you about the 11 day Uganda safari and then transfer you to a hotel in Kampala for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.

After breakfast, drive to lake Mburo National Park with a stopover at the Equator for photograph and simple experiments and then proceed, arriving in Lake Mburo National Park in time for an en route game drive and a boat cruise on the Lake.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

After breakfast, enjoy an en route game drive through Lake Mburo National Park and then Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park located in South Western Uganda. This journey takes you through the green rolling hills of Uganda with banana and tea plantations and good scenic views. Lunch will be served en route and you will arrive in Bwindi in the evening.

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking Day.

You will head to the park headquarters with packed lunch after an early morning breakfast for registration and joining other trackers for briefing about the dos and the don’ts during your Gorilla Tracking at 7:45 am. Together with game ranger guides, you will enter the thick forest in search of the gorillas and once you locate them, you will be allowed up to one hour with them for photography and watching them go about their lives. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. It is an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful yet endangered creatures.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

This morning you will depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park. Be prepared for some incredible scenery along the way. You will arrive in time for lunch at the lodge and game drive in the plains of Kasenyi in search for Savannah wildlife that may include herds of buffaloes, antelopes, elephants and if lucky, some wild cats such as lions and leopard.

Day 6: Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel.

This morning you will head to back to the plains of Kasenyi for a morning game drive to try to find what you could have missed the previous day. Lunch will be served at the lodge and after you will head to the jetty along Kazinga channel for the afternoon boat cruise. This cruise offers you chances of viewing animals like: hippos, water birds, elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles and many other wildlife which flop the channel for drinking water.

Day 7: Morning Game Drive – Transfer to Kibale National Park.

After an early breakfast drive to the northern bank of Queen Elizabeth National Park (Kasenyi) area in search of wild animals which include: lions, elephants, buffaloes, kobs, antelopes among others. After lunch you will drive to Kibale Forest National Park arriving at your lodge in the evening.

Day 8: Chimpanzee Tracking.

This morning after breakfast you will drive to the park headquarters to join other trackers for a briefing and after you will be taken for chimpanzee tracking, through Kibale Forest National Park. During this walk you will have chances of seeing many of the 13 primate species native to Kibale Forest National Park. After lunch you will drive to Bigodi for a swamp walk. This wetland belongs to community neighboring the park.

Day 9: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park.

Drive to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest national park, through small towns, villages and great views of the escarpment arriving late evening.

Day 10: Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise

After an early morning cup of tea, transfer to the northern section popularly known as Paraa for your morning game drive that will provide you an opportunity of spotting wild game that may include, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, hippos and if lucky cats such as lions and leopards. Return to the lodge for a lunch break before proceeding to the pier for your two hour boat cruise to the bottom of the falls to witness how river Nile squeezes itself in a narrow gorge before exploding out producing an experience of a lifetime.

Day 11: Transfer to Entebbe International Airport.

Enjoy your early morning breakfast and then proceed for another Game drive in the morning on your way to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking; here you will find both black and white rhino and there after drive back to Kampala/Entebbe International Airport depending your flight time as you enjoy the beautiful scenery.
